A One Day Womens Conference
Ok, let’s be real. This year has been a little crazy. Our best-laid plans – out the window. But amongst the swirl, there is a beckoning. To down-tools and be. For one day. One day in His presence. One day exists for leaders, trailblazers and everyday women to gather in a space that champions one another in an open, honest and trustworthy way. This one-day conference is for women of every age, demographic and social sphere. Hey, that’s you! Unapologetically faith-based, this day will mobilise you to be the change and positive influence that you long for. A warm, inclusive and inspiring event, this is a conference that you can be proud to attend and confident to invite others to.

A lawyer, a director and an influential member of her iwi, Rukumoana Schaafhausen is renowned as a hard-working, principled “bridge builder” and a diverse thinker. Inspired by her tupuna (ancestors), Ruku has strived to make a difference beyond herself, and do what is right for the people of Aotearoa. Ruku is influenced by her Ngāti Haua ancestor Wiremu Tamihana, a leader largely responsible for establishing the Maori King movement in the mid-1800s, and she endeavours to emulate his qualities of peace-making, unity, strong values and faith in her own leadership journey. Indeed, Ruku’s strengths lie in working across corporates, communities and iwi to make positive social change for all of Aotearoa, and in championing young Maori women to become future leaders. She is now the chairperson of Te Arataura, the executive arm of Te Whakakitenga o Waikato, the tribal authority representing the people of Waikato-Tainui. Rukumoana lives in Pukekoe with her husband and two sons where they are the pastors of Equippers Pukekoe Church.
